Sometimes you think things will settle down if you can just get through the next few hours or days . . . That's how we felt when we were pushing through the busyness of last week and weekend. "If we can just make it to my parent's house, then we can finally rest." HA! My parents are replacing the flooring in their house, so the place was a chaotic mess when we finally arrived Tuesday evening. (Although, the new kitchen floor looks fabulous and I look forward to the new carpet coming next week! :) ) AND my parents hosted Thanksgiving for our family and my sister's inlaws. AND my mom had to work Wednesday, so I did some of her shopping. . . It's been three days of moving stuff, cleaning, climbing over and around, cooking, visiting, eating, rearranging furniture, and even a little bit of shopping! I'm starting to think that things may not settle down at all this month. Oh boy! But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Cor. 12:9a This weekend we will head across the Sound to the peninsula to do our first two Christmas church services. We've been practicing regularly and let me tell you, I needed it. It's amazing how tricky it can be to sing songs that you haven't sang in 12 months!
We're excited to begin our Christmas celebrations! You can find our complete Christmas schedule here. Well, I wrote this blog sitting at the table with my husband, my sister, and her boyfriend. They have worked very hard at distracting and entertaining me, so I apologize for the lack of content or cohesiveness. Such is life at my parent's house! Now, I am off to bed.

God is Unchanging!
He is still on the throne! (see Psalm 102) Lord, you are my portion and my cup of blessing; you hold my future. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I will bless the Lord who counsels me-- even at night when my thoughts trouble me. I always let the Lord guide me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:5-8) Reading...
