from a local park near where we are staying (not from my trip to Ohio!)
This past week I went on a whirlwind of a trip back to the Midwest to visit family. Every year, my cousin helps me pay for a ticket to fly out to spend a few days with her! She's one of my very best friends and I'm always grateful for the opportunity to see her and her family. That being said, it is always a very busy week filled with driving, laughing, junk food, and late nights! :) Between not wanting to miss a moment of our short time together and the time change from the west coast to the east, by the time I get home I am sleep deprived and brain dead! I'll write more about my trip later.
After arriving home late Friday night, we all slept in Saturday and then spent the day relaxing together!
Yesterday was a busy day of ministry! We left our trailer at seven in the morning to drive two hours to our morning church service. It was such a gift to minister at that church. God's hand was on every aspect of this service! It was a last minute booking due to an unforeseen opening in our schedule and we were so grateful this pastor was willing to have us at such late notice. We see now that it was God's plan all along to have us there. We began the morning spending some time with a few church members praying over the service. It was a blessing to be able to be a part of that precious time of prayer! Then the worship service was awesome and the congregation was very responsive! The Holy Spirit was definitely working and it was a privilege to be a part!
After church we spent some time visiting with several different people and then two church members took our family to lunch. These sweet ladies were a riot and filled our lunch time with encouragement and laughter!
With a few hours to kill between our church services, we took the boys to a park and let them play!
Our evening service was at a church where we did a Valentine's Banquet last year. It was fun to share our ministry with them and see familiar faces!
After a long drive back to the trailer, we all fell into bed pooped but grateful for the day! God is good and we are so thankful for His work in and through us!
another picture from the park shown above - has absolutely nothing to do with this blog post ;)
This week we are going to try to re-establish a routine. Josh will continue working on booking ministry events for the summer and fall (our spring schedule is already full!). He's also practicing diligently so that he can begin recording a new instrumental CD when we're back home! (and all his fans said, "Woohoo!")
The boys and I will continue our homeschooling which will include a research "project". I told them that we could take a break from their normal Science curriculum and spend some time at the library learning about Great Pyrenees and Komondor dogs. Researching the breeds and also doing some research on obedience training and grooming! We'll go home better prepared to take care of Curly! :)
just a few more pics from the beautiful hike we took last weekend

God is Unchanging!
He is still
on the throne!
(see Psalm 102)
The heavens, indeed the highest heavens, belong to the Lord your God, as does the earth and everything in it. . . For the Lord your God is the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, mighty, and awe-inspiring God, showing no partiality and taking no bribe.
