As I continue to seek God's direction for this blog, I have spent some time reading through past blog posts. For those of you who haven't been reading my musings and ramblings from the beginning, this is actually the third location for this blog. I like to think of it as my outline, rough draft, and final copy! :)
When we embarked on this great adventure, I started a blog on blogspot.com to keep family and friends updated. I shared a lot of very personal information and pictures, so I kept that blog private. The only people who could access it were those I invited via email.
As we continued to grow in our ministry, I had many people approach me at concerts asking if there was a way to stay in touch, keep up with our adventures, and find updated prayer requests. So, a little less than a year after we embarked on our crazy journey I started a public blog. It was still a blogspot blog, but this one was accessible to anyone. I tried for a short time to maintain both the private and public blog, but it was just too much. I stopped posting on the private blog just a couple weeks after starting my public blog.
Finally, last August I decided it was time my blog was bona fide so I registered my domain and moved my blog here. Although my official "following" is small, I feel all legit now! :) (that is until I visit someone else's blog)
Soooo, as I said, I've been going back through old blog posts and thought it might be fun to share a few of my very first posts. I even got permission from my two "not so little" cuties, to include pictures of them! :) Which, by the way, I guarantee will be the best part of these "throw back" posts. (You'll have to wait until next week's throwback post though for the pictures to start! :( Sorry!)
So, here you go! Enjoy!
16 Days Out
May 15, 2013
I can hardly believe, we are just over 2 weeks from leaving...embarking on this crazy adventure! Our rooms here at my parent's house look like the Tazmanian Devil has been for a visit and my brain kinda feels the same way. I'm very excited and (only by God's grace) not too stressed, but I do feel like my mind is constantly going in a million different directions. In addition to normal stay at home mommy/wife stuff, I'm also juggling homeschooling, booking, teaching at our homeschool co-op, planning, packing, dentist appointments...ahhhhh! :) Not to mention, trying to get as much time in with family and friends before we're gone for 3 months! The boys are very excited and can't help but talk to anyone who will listen about their upcoming summer adventure.
God has been so faithful to confirm that this is His plan for us. That makes all of the craziness exciting, but not frightening! ~ "I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 ~ From the time Josh and I got married, we have been praying for God to remove Josh from his extremely difficult and painful framing job and bless us with a full-time music ministry! Thank you so much to all of you who have prayed with us for this. God has so generously and mercifully given us this opportunity and we are grateful beyond words! Currently, we have 26 concerts in June, 17 in July (we didn't book quite as much in July because we'll be in Billings and want to have lots of time with Josh's family - we have a new niece and nephew there we haven't met!), and we have just begun booking for August. God is opening doors and directing our steps and we continually seek Him. We know this is His mission we're on and we want to make sure we are going and doing what He wants for us!
My plan is to use this blog to keep you all updated on ministry and family news. I know that so many of you have been and continue to be faithful prayer warriors on our behalf and we ask that you please continue to do so. We know we can't do this without God's provision, protection, and guidance. I'm only going to share this blog with friends and family, so that I can feel comfortable sharing more personal details about struggles and joys that our family experiences. We love all of you and are so blessed to have you as part of our "family"!
