![]() For the past three years, I feel like our life has been very much like this picture. We have been on a road that we know is built by a master builder. We trust that it is well engineered and the foundation is sure. We are excited and a little anxious about what we will find at the end of the road. We've never been there before so we're not sure what it will look like. The road twists and turns, has sharp corners and the cliff beside is deadly. We can only see a little way ahead and the switchbacks are terrifying. Traveling is wearying and we often find ourselves asking, "Are we there yet?!" But we keep driving, trusting that our map is good and our destination will be worth the drive. And then it happens... We come around a curve and gasp! The view is breathtaking! We pull over just to sit and stare in awe at God's vast power and creative artistry! We know that sooner or later we will have to get back in the truck and drive. We know that the future will continue to require great faith and obedience, but we are reminded that often just around the corner is something that will make all of the miles worth it.
So we travel on...

I like being able to leave you comments with your blog. Love your analogy of your life and trust in God's leading with a windy road where you can't always see or know what is around the corner, and sometimes the road leaves you leery of what happens if you take a wrong turn. Hope to see you soon.

Wow - I just had to come see what all these comments were about. You guys crack me up! I'm a little behind in my blog reading, but I got caught up this morning, and am thankful and blessed with you for all that God is doing. And I, too, love your analogy above - and the pictures! You have a gift for writing, Sarah. Keep blogging (and sharing all of those pictures for those of us who leave keeping a "visual" for your lives). We love you all!

God is Unchanging!
He is still on the throne! (see Psalm 102) Lord, you are my portion and my cup of blessing; you hold my future. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. I will bless the Lord who counsels me-- even at night when my thoughts trouble me. I always let the Lord guide me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. (Psalm 16:5-8) Reading...
