Happy October Morning! I hope you're morning finds you with something pumpkin spicey in your life :)
My morning is full of warm coffee, cinnamon candles and pondering the meaning of life...
Ha, just kidding - about the meaning of life part, at least!
My title question of "What am I here for?" actually applies quite literally to "here" - as in, this blog.
If you've been around for long, you know that after blogging fairly consistently for a few years, the past three years have been incredibly inconsistent! In fact, my last post was more than a year ago!
And yet, every year when I get the notification from my hosting site that this domain is up for renewal, we pay for another year of hosting. Why?....
Good Question. It's the one I keep asking.
In reality, each year, Josh and I do consider canceling this service and thus forfeiting the domain name StillLearningToFollow.com and considering my days in the blogosphere complete. But we always feel confident that is not what God would have us do.
"Someday," we say, I will be writing here again.
And so, this morning during my morning quiet time with Jesus, I found myself asking again -
Why, do I still have a blog?
And even more specifically, How can I bless, serve, and participate in this ministry that God called us to, while remaining faithful to my clear call to stay home with the boys?
How can I serve the people that God has put in our lives, all over the country - without going all over the country?
How can I aid in the growth of this ministry without neglecting my ministry to my boys (specifically homeschooling) and my ministry to the local church body that God has planted us in?
Unfortunately, this post is not a post of answers,
only those questions...and two requests.
First - Will you pray for me? I believe the Lord has something for me to do here. I believe He can give me time and help me balance priorities properly. I even believe that I might be getting some clarity as to what that would look like and what His purpose might be for this blog.
But, I so desire God's direction! I need His wisdom!
So, will you please pray for God to direct my steps and that I will follow His voice above all else?!
Second - (and this one takes extra courage to ask)
If you're reading this, will you post a comment? Not only will it help me to know that there are people who would still have interest in reading my ramblings, but it would also help to know who you are and how you heard about this blog? I believe this is a ministry and if I am to serve you well, it would help tremendously to know who you are.
Thank you, Friends! I'm praying right now for God's blessing and direction for each of you - as we each seek to learn how to follow our Master!
